Mr. Rubber Toronto is one of North America’s premier Rubber / Fetish / Kink Contests. The contest is held during TLP the second weekend in August. The Mr. Rubber Toronto contest can be challenging, but the opportunities for great times are tremendous. The rewards of both competing and winning are an amazing life experience.
Who can enter the Mr. Rubber Toronto Contest?
Men with a serious commitment to:
- Rubber / kink / fetish Brotherhood
- Community Involvement
- Personal Growth and most of all losts of Fun
You must be:
- twenty-one years or older
- legally male
- a Canadian citizen/landed immigrant
- living in the Greater Toronto Area (within a two hour commute of downtown Toronto)
Don’t think that you must be into heavily play scenes, well known in rubber / fetish / kink circles, with a body “to die for” and a closet full of rubber or gear.
But do recognize that you should be a man with your own rubber or gear and with a passion for the rubber / fetish / Kink and comfortable with being active and visible in Toronto’s queer community.
Concerned about the commitment level? Don’t be! As the current Mr. Rubber Toronto you will only have to participate in one TLP event, on average, per month! The rest of your title year is up to you.

Rubber / fetish / kink folk from across North America attend the Toronto Leather Pride Weekend to see YOU. As a contestant you are in a favoured position to make new acquaintances and friends.
Mr. Rubber Toronto has the opportunity to compete at Mr. International Rubber Contest in Chicago.
As the new MRT titleholder you, Mr. Leatherman Toronto and the Bootblack Toronto titleholder will equally represent Toronto’s Fetish and Kink Community at local, national, and international events.
All contestants win prizes and the total of prize packages awarded at TLP 2011 weekend was more than $10,000!
All contestants are VIP guests at all TLP Weekend Events.
If I win, must I compete at MIR?
No. It is not a firm commitment. Mr. Rubber Toronto has the opportunity to compete at MIR, and by all accounts from former MRTs it is a unique life experience, but the titleholder can chose not to compete at MIR for reasons that are their own.
Preparation for the Contest
Preparation for The MRT contest begins a few weeks before the contest and includes coaching sessions, possible bar runs, photo shoots etc. A short time commitment is required on the part of the contestants.
How do I enter?
Just fill out an appplication.
Mr. Rubber Toronto Contestants:
- May enter the contest as an independent contestant (GDI) who has agreed to provide the entry fee; or
- May be sponsored to enter the contest by a sanctioned business, organization or club from within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) sexual minorities’ community, that has agreed to provide the entry fee; or
- May enter the contest as first place winner of a preliminary title contest of a sanctioned business, organization or club from within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) sexual minorities’ community, that has agreed to provide the entry fee; or
- May enter the contest with an appointed title from a sanctioned business, organization or club from within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) sexual minorities’ community that has agreed to provide the entry fee.
Dates and times for preliminaries are advertised as they become set by the venue, usually starting mid-to-late-spring, such as the Mr. TORN Contest.

MRT Basic Contest Rules:
- The Mr. Rubber Toronto contest will be judged by a panel of five judges, chosen for their knowledge and interest in Rubber, fetish and/or kink. Contestants will be judged in five categories — interview, full rubber wear, onstage question, minimal wear and onstage fantasy scene. The contestant with the highest total of judges’ scores will be named Mr. Rubber Toronto during the MRT portion of the contest on Saturday night of the competition weekend.
- In the event that there is only one contestant running for the Mr. Rubber Toronto title, the contestant must receive a final score of at least 70% of the total possible points. The total possible score is 1000 points (5 judges x 200 possible points per judge). Therefore, the single contestant must receive a final score of at least 700 in order to be awarded the title.
- The winner of the contest will have the option of going to the Mr. International Rubber Competition in Chicago.
